Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was entertaining with a strong cast to boot. However there isn't much beyond the modern take on Greek mythology and entertaining special effects. I haven't read any of the books before so I went in without any expectations.

I laughed inside when I saw Kevin McKidd playing Poseidon. He's really cool and all but he will still be Dr Owen Hunt of Grey's Anatomy to me. Pierce Brosnan would've reminded me of 007 but he's become unrecognisably fat.

Essentially it is still one for the kids. It's light-hearted entertainment. Kind of like getting drunk. Go in and expect to have fun, relive your childhood and then not really being able to remember what it was all about the next day.

Public Holiday Please

I'm beginning to wonder if being in an office is my kinda thing. I get less tired teaching an entire day of tuition! And I think there's a bit too many things that are done according to "habit" so it's very hard to see everything with a fresh perspective every time. It's not really monotony but it's like... the process is a bit fixed.

I wonder if I'm making sense.

I'm looking forward to the CNY holidays because of the long break and spending time with my loved ones. I'm aware time is limited, occasions are limited. This happens once a year and it is special every time. I will do my best just by smiling. Yes, I think that's what I can do.

I wish I had more money though. I didn't buy anything for the new year because tomorrow NTU's gonna deduct $370 from my bank account for miscellaneous fees. Life is tough!

Angry. Cannot. Breathe.

Got opinion then say lah, don't have then say this kinda stupid thing. Name-calling very useful meh. What has it got to do with being politically correct siol. Nothing to say then SHUTTHEFUCKUP lah. Aiyo. Fucking angry lei.

State of the World

The more I learn about the world the more depressed I get. You realise that as one person you have limits in changing other people's world views and beliefs. You realise that because you are unique, not everyone thinks the same way as you do. You fight to be heard, but it really doesn't matter because stupid people don't listen. Then there are those with warped logic. Those are the worst of the lot.

I understand and appreciate that there should be freedom of speech. But nobody should put another down. Period. If people are encouraging hate and demeaning others, then they should be shut down. Stirring shit and underlining differences are actions of a fool, especially in our current state of play.

What the fuck are you trying to prove?

We all have our private spaces. Respect that line.

After this internship I am returning to worship Britney and Gaga. No more politics and religion for as long as... well, as long as I can help it.
