Got these three pieces from asos.com all thanks to WSCI resident mei nu Christine Tan! They fit me perfectly and my choices this time were much better than the other time round. Now I can go back to my shopping ban.

Topman is very uninspiring this season anyway.

Shopping Ban Starts Now

Yes I got all these compulsively. Well, rather compulsively! I got them in the past two months and it is with startling realisation that I have spent too much at Topman. It is the only place that makes me part with my money.

I used to think that clothes were just clothes, but I think I've learned that they aren't! Still, I will not visit that place till October when I can get 20% off.

It is terrible that the shopping ban coincides with the Great Singapore Sale. But this makes it the most effective. There can be no better time.

ARGH.

Cannot Resist Topman

This was the shirt I got with Sidney. It was going for $69 and I got it for $55. I promise that... well... someone needs to impose a shopping ban on me.

Crazy Thursday

Crazy, crazy Thursday.

Tuition in the afternoon.

A slow lunch, followed by a little bit of shopping at Bugis. Hastily, a decision was made to watch New Moon.





New Moon was crazy. It snuggled in its niche of slightly crappy acting, incoherent storylines, pretty people and cheesy dialogue. I loved that the four of us were disgusted at the same things at the same time. There were completely unnecessary scenes, memorable lines.

I remember hearing Edward say, "Leaving you is the most difficult thing that I've had to do in the last 100 years."

He must not have done much.



For all the wrong reasons, it was terribly entertaining. Go in with very low expectations and you will not be disappointed. Well unless you're 12.



After that we had free Starbucks. It was awesome. The staff were really making it happen. The queue was long and we thought that we might not be able to get our drink as it was nearing 7pm. However the staff were determined to get serve as many people as possible and they were really into the entire Christmas thing. It was fantastic and it made my day. Starbucks 1. Every other coffee place 0.





The action moved to 313@Somerset, which like New Moon, opened that day. Uniqlo managed Asian sensibilities and kicked the ass of other clothing chains. There was a queue to get in to the store. There was a queue to the cashier. The queues were formidable, like at least a hundred people in each one. None of us came out empty-handed.



Ness made us take a photo with Santa Clause. It was free and it came with a Canon-printed photo.

I am very entertained by all the gimmicks that made shopping such an awesome national pasttime. But I need to stop because I am not making any money. It's quite a torture knowing that the only exciting things that happen in Singapore are new malls and more shopping.

Spreedom

Okay, and so here are the results of my first online shopping spree. I blame Major Lin for it because he's the one who asked me to check it out! I was always quite annoyed when all my female friends (so many of you are guilty) go blog shopping during lecture and I've ran out of ONTD to read and I've got no choice but to stare blankly at the screen. Or worse, be forced to give comments on this dress, that dress and that dress.

Okay, I'm kidding. It's a welcomed distraction.

I got all these at $95. If I'm not wrong the shipping's a little more expensive than normal because apparently it's covered by insurance and delivered via registered mail. And all those funny things which I do not understand. Maybe Mr Louis Lin, Hall King of Hall 11 2007 can answer you if you drop by his webby and ask him. Or if you haven't you can be a fan of Spreedom here.

So yes, out of all the shops that they have available, like Aeropostale, Fred Perry, Forever 21 and Victoria's Secret, I like Urban Outfitters the best. Fred Perry kinda screams douche to me but if that's your thing, why not! I'm not into Slogantees any more but if you like them you could check out Snorgtees.

When money starts pouring in (which is never since I haven't even got a company for internship since the company I was supposed to work for decided that they were not hiring interns) from my awesome tuition students, I will buy jeans and shorts. As the ever-wise advice-dispenser Qiqi once said, "If you open the wardrobe and you don't have what you want to wear, BUY." That was when I told her that my nice berms and shorts were in the wash and it was hot and I didn't want to wear jeans.

Initially I got 3, but when Louis ordered, one of them went out of stock. So I chose another one in its place (instead of being money-savvy and saying, "Oh, then I'll just take two."). While picking out another one, I saw something else that I liked and so I ended up with four.

Okay, yeah, so the 4 tops that I got from UO.









The last one is something that I would never wear unless I go overseas. Classic case of "looks-good-on-the-model-but-not-on-you". Another shirt that I would not wear unless overseas is a T that reads: 注意, 小心迷上我. It was a present and the only time I wore it was when I went to Bangkok.

I am very disgusted with myself for "being one with consumerism". Excuse me while I shop for CNY or something.

On Friday Ness, Stanley and I went shopping at JP after school! We were supposed to be studying. However it turned out to be one of the best shopping trips ever and Stanley got himself an awesome new shirt for his interview. I don't understand why shopping is fun but it is. I make a very good shopping buddy because somehow I am very enthusiastic about such things. And while waiting for Stanley to try on his clothes, we camwhored.
