It's exhilarating to express yourself and to get those things out there that you want to say.I feel like in a sense, you want to take more control and it's a cool thing. People want ideas and your opinions on things. It's a weird change at first 'cos you're like, "That was a good idea but you know what this is what I wanna do."

I've learnt my lesson to stand my ground and to say, and do, what I want to do.

Due to popular request, I've removed Britney's Do Somethin'. After all, it's been almost a month and a half that you guys have been listening to it, so I guess I'll have to make way for something else. I n i t i a l D

Jay's new movie Initial D is set to be shown in Singapore on the 23rd June. It's reported that he is coming to our sunny island on the 21st to promote it! It's his first movie so it's certainly going to be an exciting event! I can't wait! Don't have much information about the movie as of yet, but I'll try to find out more before the movie plays in cinemas.

Overseas Community Involvment Project Thailand 2003 I

Yep. On the 6th of Dec, a group of us and 4 teachers went to Thailand to do OCIP.

It was only my second trip overseas (first one to Malacca, Malaysia) and my first time taking a plane! It was an amazing trip really. We went to the village of Ban Jalae which was somewhere in the hills to build an extension of a museum which was built by our seniors. We went there to experience a different culture and to learn from them. It's not a one way thing. What we gained from the experience is not something that can be bought with money. Also, the bonding between collegemates that we'd never have come across during a normal day in NYJC was something that was something of value that was gained from the trip.

Living in a place with absolutely no electricity, we got the chance to use oil lamps at night. Well, we did cheat a little and use our torchlights but it was really dark at night. So dark that the little light from the moon was able to help us along at night. The food there was also quite interesting, although some of my other friends would disagree. Their cooking style is different and the food has a unique taste. Very memorable. Also, there was a ritual carried out specially for us because too many of us were getting injured and all that! It's for blessing and then we got to eat some porridge cooked with the meat of freshly killed pig (correct me if I'm wrong, can't remember the animal). That was kind of scary because the meat was actually just fat and it was tough to bite and everything about it tasted weird.

I was also the medic there and I pasted more plasters than I ever will in this lifetime! There's so many stories to tell about that place. It was in many ways a life-changing experience I guess I'll just have to start on it another time!

Mariah Carey - We Belong Together

It's official. She's made a successful comeback! Ladies and Gentlemen, scream for Mariah Carey! Her Billboard chartrun as of now for her second single off The Emancipation of Mimi called We Belong Together is 81-61-30-12-*7*! A very impressive one at that! Everyone who knows me knows that I don't like ballads and anything slow just puts me off immediately, unless it's a gem. And this one is! Fantastic vocals, mood, meaning... everything's in there! And here is what Mariah has to say about this track:

"We Belong Together" is my second single from The Emancipation of Mimi. It's probably one of my top three favorite songs on the record. It was a situation where I went back down to Atlanta to work with Jermaine after we had already written two songs for the album. I didn't think we could top the songs that we wrote because I really liked them a lot, but then I got there and we started just going back and forth with concepts and ideas and we came up with "We Belong Together". I feel like the end result was just a really heartfelt ballad that I think people can really relate to. Even though it's a very specific story, I think that everybody can probably apply it to their own lives.

The Classic

Ooh, I think this is a rather classic photo. It's just something I'd like to post before this day is up. It's one of my favourite photos of us together. It's taken on the Eve of Christmas. We went to this place which was kind of like Marche and the food was pretty good! I enjoyed myself a lot with her and One Fifth. If I'm not wrong, after that we went out with Mr Cheng to Jane's house and met the OCIP Myanmar adults. We took more photographs there. I'll have to remember to take them from Yu Ting. After that we went to Orchard to countdown to X Mas! Cool stuff!
