It was hilarious and enjoyable and sad all at the same time. Hilarious because of Ness' trolley antics, enjoyable because of the great company, and sad because Yue Ting and Qiqi are leaving for France. I wished that I was travelling too although I could relate to their apprehension and nervousness.

Terminal 3 looks awesome. I can't believe it's my first time there, but I've had no reason to be there. There's great food, chill out places and the ceiling design reminded me of some inverted or indoor version of the Esplanade's roof!

Hopefully I'll get a chance to fly off somewhere before school starts. It's so metaphoric, the magical feeling of actually feeling freedom and a sense of escape just because one's flying away. I hope it lasts, kind of like how I wish I could still believe in Santa Claus.

Need for Speed

My second time blading, this time with Edric as my shi fu. I was afraid and so the uncle gave me knee guards.

And elbow guards.

And wrist guards. Which all matched my red singlet very well

The wrist guards came in very handy during my dramatic falls. I flapped my arms all over the place trying to regain balance and my hands were the first to hit the ground when I could see the ground rushing to my face.

I've never bladed such a great distance so it was a great achievement.

Other than chilling out at Cafe Del Mar, I've also imagined myself blading at East Coast, with Ray Ban sunglasses on, listening to my mp3 player. It's just a matter of time...

Till I master blading and not perform epic falls worthy of America's Funniest Home Videos.

You Want Camwhore I'll Give You

Next year will be the 10th year that we've known each other. 23 years on earth is long enough to make me realise this friendship is rare and special.

We went for zhi char at the coffee shop near my house before heading to Gelare, which was having their waffles-on-half-price day. It was so freaking crowded we decided to have dessert at Starbucks instead. Ash paid for everything, making the two of us feel guilty yet again. Being a nurse is a tough job. I'm glad that she's found another nursing job with slightly better working conditions.

It was a no-holds-barred question-and-answer session. We caught up on what we'd missed for the past 8 months or so. It felt good to get really different perspectives from the ones that I'm used to, from people who grew up with me, yet see the world differently.

We talked relationships. Cut them open and analysed them and became enlightened. Sharing and throwing questions to have them answered is a great comfort. Problems seem to shrink and not seem as bothersome.

And we camwhored. You all say I camwhore what right and I'm sick of having denying it. Camwhore then camwhore lah!

Move It

I went for a run today. It was the first time since my foot recovered. The bone of my little toe is still slightly swollen but I don't really feel pain except when I rub it.

The pace wasn't too good because of the intense cycling yesterday. But it felt good to once again get my heart pumping till I could hear it in my ears.

I haven't done exactly what I wanted to do this holidays. It's moving too fast for my liking. Before long I'll be back in reservice, going overseas for a couple of trips (hopefully), going for orientation camps and I'll be starting a new sem. The feeling of that happening would be fast and painful, kind of like an egg being dropped from an apartment on the 9th floor to the concrete pavement.

I just have to set a few goals, stick to them and not regret when this fairytale is over.

Jie Yu and I went cycling at Pulau Ubin and it was a thrilling trip. I feel leaner already! For more photos, click here.

I need to get my own DSLR. THANKS LYON!

We didn't stop to photograph the quarries but we took a trip to Chek Jawa, which I've always wanted to go. The best sights and most exciting bicycle trails can also be found to and fro the jetty and Chek Jawa. There are some steep upslopes but most of them are manageable. The payoff going down the slopes ("with caution for your own safety" say the numerous signs) is fantastic and worth the effort. The bicycles are also much better than those for rent at East Coast!

We also saw tonnes of wildlife but the only mammals we saw were monkeys and a banana-eating dog. However there were plenty of insects and birds. The number of mosquito bites we had were frightful. There was a bird which was supposedly a crane ir stock but looked more like a duck trying to drown itself. Very interesting!

For those who are interested in making a trip to Ubin, it costs $5 for a ferry trip to and fro Changi Jetty (which is at Changi Village) to Pulau Ubin and $6 to rent the bicycle for the entire day. You can also get 1.5 litre bottle of water for $1.50. My hor fun there was $4. I'm tempted to try the rest of the food there though!

Onward with my mission to explore every single park in Singapore!

Fuelling Addiction

It's bad and I'm horrible. I know I shouldn't be but I keep doing it. It's an addiction and I just can't help it!

Played 8 hours of mahjong with Anna, HongJing and Ruiqi the night before till dawn. I lost like mad. There was an entire round I didn't win at all and I didn't even get any money, no gang or yao dao even. It was damn depressing but I learned a lesson from all that.

In the evening I went to my grandparent's place for dinner and played another round for about 3-4 hours. It was a slightly different ball game because we played with the joker. And this is my biggest win after 11 hours or so of mahjong:

Zi mo hua shang yi se chou ping hu!

And the flower that I got was my own 1 Flower! I think this is something like 8 tai! Hahaha... I would like to thank my mother, who was my shang jia who happened to have an excess of tong zi, and my lucky stars for getting 2, 2, 3, 4, 4 tong right at the start!

Okay shit, I'm going crazy. I'm staying off mahjong for awhile. It's expensive.

For Real?!

When I saw the front cover for the Life! section today I was like, "Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?". The guy's 57 and he looks like that! I bet men around Singapore are looking at themselves with disgust and wives are complaining to husbands about not looking as good as they used to! He'd even put most 20-year-olds to shame.

Like myself.

He runs 87km marathons. The only marathon I've done was to play mahjong from 11pm to 7am (and I'm going for more later). Ooh the guilt and the shame. Yes, the shame!

Okay the foot's feeling better already. Healthy activities only. Exercise time.
