A whirlwind commentary on the charts this week. Madonna finally gets her #1. Her previous single Sorry also went to #1 for 2 weeks 15 weeks ago before being toppled by Will Young's All Time Love. Speaking of Will Young, he's at #2 this week. Is history set to repeat itself? Will Young also inched to #2 the same week Madonna got to #1, both locked onto their positions for two weeks before Will got to #1.

At #8 this week is the irresistable dance track by Chicane. Tom Jones does the vocals of this track and you can see how powerful he is live, here. I think back on his previous pop works (not the very old ones of course) which include Burning Down The House with The Cardigans, and Sex Bomb, and I can't help but wish he'd release more records!

Youth Group is the greatest gainer in the chart, moving up 6 to #7. The group hails from Australia and was formed in 2001. Their new single Catching and Killing has been sent to radio there. Hopefully they'll be big in Singapore too. Either that, or I'll make them!

Last of all Keane is back with a new album called Under the Iron Sea, and a fantastic new single to boot! Dreamy and catchy at the same time, they look set to conquer with this new one! Jumping ahead 12 notches to claim #3 on the UK Singles Chart, it comes with a rather interesting video. Apparently the camera is mounted on this toy train kinda thing which has tracks that go around the band as they perform the song. It's a bit dizzying, but unique. See it here.

Set to impact in the charts next week includes the new one by Paris Hilton. She can't really sing that well, but the song is superbly addictive. Titled Stars Are Blind, the track has a summer feel to it, and a classless video to boot. It's like you just turn on the camera and ask the woman to gyrate. Absolute brainlessness (probably because the director also did her Carls Jnr commercial). See it here. Other new ones that may enter includes Xtina's Ain't No Other Man which got onto radio ahead of schedule due to leaks. I'm kinda short on songs to introduce this week, so if anyone has any hot tracks they'd like to share, just comment!
